Andrew had gotten the ring in earlier in the week, so he knew he was going to propose at some point during the weekend. Erika had a rough day at work on friday, so I decided to treat her to a mani-pedi (for photo purposes, obvi), but it was easily hidden by the fact that I also just wanted to cheer her up. So we got the mani pedis done, had dinner at home, and had a nice chill evening with just us and the dogs. Erika's birthday was coming up, so Andrew had some pearls stashed away that he was going to give to her in the coming weeks, but decided to be sneaky and slightly cruel, and tie the small ring box that the pearls were in to some flowers Andrew had planned to propose with and give them to her to cheer her up some more. When Andrew walked in with the flowers and the box tied into the flower bow, he saw her perk up immediately, so Andrew had to lead with "IT'S NOT WHAT YOU THINK IT IS!" E loved the pearls and we sat there talking for a bit more. At this point Andrew knew it had to be that night, he couldn't contain my eagerness any longer. Andrew hid the ring box in a robe on the back of the couch (it was still cold in the mornings, so we would use that to take the dogs out, so it was totally inconspicuous). Then E got in her feelings and started talking about how much she loved him and how much he loved her and how happy we both are together as we walked towards the kitchen, and naturally got me all teary eyed. Erika asked if Andrew was ok, and he said no, I'm not. He grabbed the box and told her this time, that its not a joke, and Andrew got down on one knee and finally asked if she would marry him and continue to make him the happiest man around. Of course she said yes (have you seen the ring?), and then we popped a hidden bottle of champagne.
